tractors

Last week I came up with the idea to let Kane play with his tractors in flour. Talk about a mommy home run! He could sit and play for hours if I let him.

It can get a little messy, but it is worth it!

Easter in March

LuLu called us over to her house the other week so she could give Kane his Easter gift. Yes, Easter gift. She could not wait for Kane to see it and she wanted him to enjoy it while the weather was so pretty. The only catch was- we had to put it together.

So many pieces! It took us forever but we finally got it done!

"Big LuLu tractor" as Kane calls it.

LuLu let us bring it home because Kane cried big fat tears when we pulled him off of it.

Valentine's Day LuLu Style

We went over to LuLu's house a few nights ago and Kane scored in the Valentine gift department. He got a dump truck, a mailbox, 2 dogs, a tractor and clothes! He has the BEST aunt and LuLu ever.
Sweet boy loves his new toys.

He knew exactly what to do with his new dump truck... take it outside and fill it with rocks and dirt!

He has figured out that LuLu's house has a fun weight room where he can get in to lots of trouble!

Working off those gummy bears he's eating.

So many fun things!

He got to bring home his puppy since LuLu's real puppy doesn't like it.

He insisted that his puppy had to go potty, so instead of risking him throwing his puppy in the toilet, we had to explain that dogs go potty outside.

Puppy even got to sit on the table while Kane ate his snack.

His sweet LuLu came by on Valentine's Day to deliver more gifts for her Valentine.

and little frog cookies.
Thank you so much LuLu and Aunt Ashley for your generosity! Kane is so blessed!

tree trimming

Since we moved to our house in June, our trees have been trimmed twice. They are huge and gorgeous, but the acorns have done some crazy damage. Both times that they have been here, Kane and I sit outside and watch them. To be honest, we sit outside anytime a big truck is doing work... including the garbage trucks. Kane is fascinated by "GRUCKS" recently.

So high up!

still rockin' our jammies at 11!

Being a mom has really showed me that the smallest things amaze kids. I love trying to see the world through Kane's eyes. Every day is an adventure.

Adventures

Kane and I made a canvas American flag for the 4th of July. I got the idea on pinterest a few weeks back. It was a little difficult to do with a 19 month old by myself but so fun. It looks like his feet are missing toes!
One of our favorite things to do every morning is to go on mini adventures. I let Kane lead and decide where he wants to go and what he wants to do. Last week, we stumbled upon a construction site and K loved watching all the machines.
His new thing is collecting rocks... if you only knew how many rocks I pick up around the house on a daily basis. (left hand)
While I was packing the other day I noticed Kane was really quiet. Turns out he found the stickers, HA!
Sweet baby playing while I packed

We took a little break from packing and got some ice cream. I hope I can find an ice cream shoppe close to our new house. I think they are so charming.
black cherry is our favorite.

Licking the bowl clean.. he gets this from his mama!
We tagged along with Michael and the other residents for part of their farewell dinner/movie last weekend. After dinner, when the guys walked next door to catch a movie I caught myself tearing up. Michael was really blessed with a great group of residents this past year. He has made wonderful friendships that I hope he is able to keep given the long distance and busy schedules that they all have ahead of them.

You know how I've said that Kane will not go to anyone? Well, he proved me so wrong! He loves Ben and reached for him as soon as we got there. Ben and his wife are trying to have a baby so Ben loved soaking up the attention. Ben told us anytime we wanted him to babysit he would... ummmm... we are leaving in 4 days. Wish we got the offer earlier!
Then he went to Matt when we sat down. Who is this child?
