Kane screams for ice cream!

Kane and I spent yesterday afternoon on a mini mommy-son date. Kane loves going to the park these days. We don't go every single day, but we try to go as often as possible. Much to my disappointment, I am always the ONLY mom there. There are nannies galore to chat with, but no moms. Nonetheless, Kane always finds friends to play with... and that's the important part.

He gets a kick out of chasing birds. He loves running up to them and seeing them fly away.

Once we got nice and sweaty, we decided that an ice cream from Marble Slab sounded perfect to cool down!

Kane picked blueberry ice cream with gummy bears... mommy picked sweet cream ice cream with gummy bears :)

"Mommy, I want this one"

Love fun afternoons with my little guy!

Picnics and Play-dates

Thursday we packed up some toys, picked up Chick-fil-a and headed to the park. Have to say, I love the grilled chicken option they offer now. Not sure how much longer I can get him to eat that over my nuggets though.

Lucky for Kane, they were mowing the park. He was more interested in watching them than playing.

Loves the lemonade just like his mama!

After he ate lunch, he insisted on swinging until they were done mowing. Talk about front row seats!

On Friday, Stephanie and I met at the Playscape to let the kids play together. However, we spent a majority of our time eating and watching the fish! ha!

Big hugs from Bella

Last week Kane and I were inside and nearly missed the garbage trucks coming by. I had the washer, dryer and dishwasher all going at the same time, so I had no idea they were outside our house. Luckily, we have quite the relationship with the trash truck drivers, so he started honking for us. We quickly ran outside to find him stopped in front of our house. He started smiling and waving once he saw us. How freaking awesome is that? Kane's little heart was about to burst with excitement!

crafts and "shopping spree"

My current favorites on pinterest are...

Giant monogram for outside... note to self keep a large box to make one of these bad boys.

These are the exact rods I blogged about last week from Ikea. So glad to see that they WILL work!
NEED to make this on a smaller scale for this 4th. If you know anything about me, it's that I love using Kane's prints when we do crafts.

Kane and I had a mini, cheap shopping spree this past Friday.

Got the supplies and made him this shirt...

We stocked up on plates and bowls for Kane to use. (4 for $1, I think so!)

I saw these and instantly knew that we have to get a mini picnic table for our backyard.

Perfect for "farm day"! At only a $1 a piece it would be a crime not to. Need to call the fam in Bay City and set something up asap.

I'm obsessed with anything "mini" or "jumbo" so when I saw these I had to get them.

Which reminded me that I saw this shirt a few weeks back... made a quick call and found out it was on clearance for $5 so we went and picked it up!

I saw these on Quinn Poe from The poe fam blog and loved them instantly. So when I ran across them for $5 a piece they had to be mine! Especially the Popeye one, my dad used to always make a reference to him when I was little. :)

Remember the outdoor movie night I talked about last week? After a quick call to my brother the movie date is set. I saw these in the dollar bin at Target and thought they would be perfect.

I also made Kane this shirt that he wore to the park Sunday morning.

obsessed with this sweet smile-

So many other things to blog about... stay tuned!

weekend wrap-up

We live about 20 minutes from the Cincinnati airport so when we are outside we see lots of planes. Kane has started waving to them when they pass by. It occurred to me the other day to call the Sugar Land airport to see if they have an observation section and they do! (I may or may not of seen this on mama Poe's blog too) Can you say fun play date? No worries, I asked about the noise and they said its not bad and most kids don't use anything on their ears. So ladies, play date this summer? Don't you think your kiddos would LOVE seeing planes take off and land? I know Kane would!

Saturday we had a few hours of sun and Michael was home so we went on our last trip to Ault park. The park is the most beautiful park I have ever seen. I really will miss it.

Kane was super excited to be there too

We studied the alphabet
had lots of laughs

played with rocks

bird watched

explored the land

played with tree branches

and played peek-a-boo.

He heard an animal in the bushes and ran faster then I've ever seen trying to get out!

I know so many couples lately who are building their own homes. I love how they are doing it at such a young age, all right around 30 years old. Such a great accomplishment! Congrats guys! I can not wait to be in your shoes... 3 years!!

Kane "tasting" my coffee. He actually just puts his mouth on the side and says "ahhhh".

My sweet lips. I kiss him all day long.
