Despicable Me Movie Night

Kane's favorite movie currently is Despicable Me. He would watch it every single day if I let him. I realized a few weeks ago that we haven't had a movie night in awhile, so I thought this would be the perfect one. 

We sat down with stuffed crust pizza (also in the movie) and got our movie night started.

I made Kane his very own squid launcher 

and an alien that he had to knock down.

He kept trying to knock it down with the squid launcher. Not exactly how they do it in the movie, but who cares.

He was so excited when he finally knocked it down!

He loves his "big bug" shirt!

 I made minions out of twinkies as an after dinner treat.

I also made him a box of Coconutties, but I ended up eating those!

We had such a great time and can not wait for Despicable Me 2 to come out!

cars movie date

This past weekend we had a mini movie date. I didn't go crazy because most of my supplies are packed up but Kane enjoyed the movie and that's all that matters!

Since Cars 2 is about to come out, the stores have an abundance of Cars merchandise so it worked out perfectly!

No one was allowed without their movie pass.
I made Kane this shirt... questionable I know. It did not come out like I had envisioned. I'm almost ashamed to show it to you. It was supposed to be car tracks but something went terribly wrong. Good thing this little cutie can pull anything off!

Kane had wagon "wheels" as a side dish.

He had a fun activity that I tried to not take over. ha! I love coloring! Lets just say I was showing him how to stay in the lines.

I even let him have a tire for dessert.

Kane and I grabbed 2 empty boxes and made our own little cars.

Michael would have gotten a car too but he wouldn't fit into any of the boxes.

While I was searching the boys section at Target (for a Thomas the train shirt), I found myself a Cars shirt.

Happy Thursday! We are busy packing!

toy story 3 movie night

saturday night we had a toy story 3 movie party.

i printed out the whole gang for kane to play with.

we made martian cupcakes

while we were making dinner kane snacked on a mr. potato head tortilla

it didn't take him long to rearrange his face!

the next morning kane was in the best little mood! maybe because his daddy was home?

haha! michael changed his diaper and for no reason changed his pants AND put them on backwards!

of course lamb was hungry for breakfast too so he fed him cheerios

we had such a fun family evening!

christmas movie party

i can't take credit for this fun idea but shame on me for not remembering where i saw it. since i LOVE party planning this is right up my alley. we are going to start having movie nights here at the miranda house. maybe not so often now because kane is too young to really watch a movie but we will for sure do this as he gets older and can sit through one. so to kick off this new idea kane and i had a mickey mouse christmas movie party. michael was at work so it was just the two of us eating yummy sweets until our tummies hurt. in order for it to be a "movie party" you have to eat and dress the part too (maybe decorate later). i really wish we could have a toy story party because i have so many ideas for that one. maybe michael and i can. lol

day 7 on the calendar was to watch a movie so it worked out perfectly!

by the way what is your opinion- i had an idea the other day to not invest in kid movies but to get a subscription to netflix. apparently it just takes seconds for the movie to start playing once you select it. for $7 a month you can have unlimited movies instead of paying $20 per dvd. is there something i don't know about netflix? any hints, tips or suggestions would help! thanks!

we went to krogers the other day and when kane saw me grab a box of cheerios he freaked and grabbed them so i let him hold on to them while i shopped. after a few seconds of looking around i looked down and saw this... apparently he just couldn't resist!
